Yin Yang Tree

Welcome to the Yin Yang Tree website.  Yin Yang Tree is named for a qi gong or focused imagery exercise that clients learn to help regulate their spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental states.  The meditation usually expands the breaths and softens and opens the body to provide a sense of connection, inner peace and well being.

The meaning of yin yang tree follows.  Yin is the Mandarin pinyin word for the feminine aspect.  The state of yin is described with such words as below, cold, dark, passive, yielding, receptive, and solid.

Yin’s opposite, yang (yang with a soft “a” or “ah”so it sounds like “yahng”) is the masculine aspect.  Yang qualities are above, hot, light, active, forceful, penetrating, and ethereal.

In the Chinese language, the words yin and yang are not separated.  Yin and Yang appear together.  The term yinyang is used and one infers the meaning yin or yang in context.  By doing this, we acknowledge that it is impossible to experience one of the opposites without the other being present.  In this way, opposites are brought together and all is one.

The tree a metaphor of the physical body.  As we bring the yin and the yang together within the body, we open to alchemy.  We are grounded and feel solid and contained as we open to buoyant and lighter energies.
